If the color of the yolk is dark orange and the outer part is also harder to break , it means the egg is healthy and the hen ate a good healthy food living in a healthy environment.

If the color of the yolk is light yellow and yellow color it indicates that the egg is not much nutritiously healthy and the hen produced the egg consumed unhealthy food and kept in a place where the sunlight was not enough.

The color of the yolk depends upon the food consumed by hen, if the hen consumed plenty of green leaves the yolk will be more healthy with dark orange color. Hens fed cornmeal produce almost colorless yolks. Free range hens may have more access to heavily pigmented food so that they produce yolks more darker
